My name is Summer Thomas, CPDT-KA.  I am a Christian wife and mother of two growing boys. We have five dogs and two cats that share our home. I have been an animal lover my whole life.  It only seemed natural for me to become a dog trainer.  I am a graduate of Animal Behavior College where I earned my certification as an ABC Certified Dog Trainer.  Animal Behavior College (ABC) is approved by the Bureau for Private Postsecondary and Vocational Education and is an internationally recognized school.  My commitment to this program has provided me with a formal education in canine obedience training and understanding behavior and its motives. I am also Certified through the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers (CCPDT). My certifications, education and experience provide me the skills required to effectively and humanely train your dog while keeping alive the spark that makes your dog so special to you.
I continue my education by attending canine behavior and training seminars. I have experience with a wide range of breeds and behavior issues.  I am a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT), which keeps me up to date on training techniques and behavior issues.  I am a Canine Good Citizen (CGC) Evaluator approved by the American Kennel Club (AKC). I am a C.L.A.S.S (Canine Life and Social Skills) Instructor & Evaluator. I promote education & responsible pet ownership for all breeds.  Finally, I am on the Executive Committee for "We Want a Dog Park in Spotsylvania County" I'm hopeful in the future the dogs of our county will have a safe, fenced area to run and play.

My goal with each of my clients is to customize my training instruction to meet their needs.  I want each owner/dog team to be a success and enjoy the experience of dog training as much as I do
